We were meant to fly.This job post is for the role of Aerothermal Analysis Sub Section Manager within the Campania Engineering Center organization, at Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit.We are looking for a talented and experienced engineer expected to lead the team as Sub-Section Manager, having the prime responsibility for the Aerothermal Analysis of Engine Modules and Components of both commercial and military Products thru their entire Lifecycle from technology development to new product introduction and service.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesThe Sub-Section Manager is responsible for functional, business, and broad company objectives as they relate to the successful execution of Aerothermal analysis of engine components and modules, either for commercial and military programs. Specifically the Sub-Section Manager will:Lead an engineering team of direct reports with focus on Low Pressure Turbine, Combustors and Reheats modules and components design and development, assuring compliance to requirements and achieve the objectives of cost, performance and life defined in the relevant technical product specificationsFacilitate and foster the adoption of GE Flight Deck within the assigned teamSupport Design Reviews (DRs) and Test Reviews (TDRs)Check and approve analysis reports both at module and component levelAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresHelp and Assist assigned resources to continuously improve their performance and knowledge in the applicable area of expertise, and share with others through teaching, consulting, mentoringCoordinate with external partners and research organizations in the aerothermal disciplineCollaborate with adjacent engineering sections and subsections, in direct partnership with programs Technical LeadersDevelop relationship with external and internal customers acting as expert, lean, and reliable referenceSupport other departments (GSC, Quality, Product Support..) and Suppliers to achieve producibility and manufacturability targetsCoordinates activities required to meet engineering priorities and related KPIEfficient communicate with the team to improve collaboration and eliminate waste. Share information and promote open dialogue.Qualifications/RequirementsEngineering Master degree from an accredited university. Aeronautical/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferredPrevious proven and consistent experience in an engineering design teamFluent written and spoken Italian and EnglishClear thinking and diligent approachWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredDesired CharacteristicsStrong technical skills on mechanical design of Low pressure Turbine, Combustors and Reheat modulesStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsEffective team building and problem solving skillsAbility to handle complex problems using high level of judgement to make decisionsAbility to offer new solutions outside of set parameters by using multiple internal and external sources to help arrive to a decisionCapable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experienceSystem and open mindset, clear thinking.What we offerSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
