Urban Building Solutions Pty Ltd (UBS) is a growing company within the building insurance industry. Having a large portfolio of national clients within insurance and strata, we are regarded as one of the most prominent insurance building service providers in Sydney and Newcastle. With a head office in Strathfield South, UBS operates from Wollongong, Sydney Metro through to Coffs Harbour with plans to expand into the ACT and Queensland in the next two years.

We are currently seeking an Estimator / Assessor to join our Sydney team. In this role you will be reporting to the Estimating Manager. There is opportunity for an immediate start, however we are prepared to wait for the right person to join us. 

As an experienced Estimator / Assessor you will need thorough building knowledge to enable you to work on both major and minor loss projects. Strata experience is a bonus.

Duties and responsibilities:

Company specific training will be provided but a sound knowledge of the building industry is required.
Detailed review of incoming inquiries as they are assigned to you to appropriately assess and triage inquiries to efficiently schedule site inspections
Liaise and coordinate with third parties including but not limited to strata managers, property managers, owners, tenants, and sub-contractors to schedule and attend inspections
Attend inspections in accordance with the claim inquiry to report and/or quote on the damages found and repairs required
Compose accurate and detailed reports and quotes in order to win tenders with insurers and adjustors
Build and maintain professional relationships with third party contractors and clients such as claims staff, adjusters, and strata managers
Selections Criteria:
Minimum 5 years proven experience within the building industry in a similar estimating role.
Previous experience writing causation reports on the cause of damage and subsequent repairs to the property.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and estimating software programs.
