Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off‑highway equipment – Dana provides the world's original‑equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. /p h3Position Summary /h3 pbWe’re looking for a Chief Engineer in Arco (TN) location. /b /p pAs a key member of the engineering staff, the Chief Engineer has the full responsibility for a specific product line (in other words owns the product, being fully responsible for its outcome product along the full lifecycle), and leads a dedicated team that : /p ul licreates the product concept, /li lidevelops the technical business case of the product, /li lileads the technical design of the product, /li limanages the development of the product, /li litakes the product into production, while coordinating continuously with the other business functions (e.g. manufacturing / production engineering, quality, sales, marketing), /li lioptimizes the product while in production. /li /ul pThe product is a Hydrostatic Variable Transmissions system that combines mechanic, hydraulic, electric, electronic and software components and features. /p h3Scope : /h3 ul liDirect Reports : 3 - 5 /li liInternal : Engineering peers and management, OH leadership /li liExternal : Customers, engineering service providers, research institutes /li /ul pLeads a core team of professionals with full responsibility for a specific product line. Has the overview of all engineering activities concerning linked to specific product line. Strong links to global network of Dana OH engineering sites. /p h3Main Responsibilities /h3 ul liLifecycle management – responsible for the defined product line from cradle to crib. Strongly involved in making the strategic decisions on product evolution and scope, together with Product Planning and Higher Management. Responsible for implementing the needed actions and projects resulting from these decisions. Main technical contact person for customer and internal management. /li liHave an overview and try to mitigate in technical issues linked to the product line. Keep close contact with all technical experts and report out to OH leadership and involved customers. /li liResponsible for development of the new product, correct handover to production when phasing in as well as phasing out from production. /li liResponsible for technical robustness of the product during its lifecycle – driving product improvement programs when applicable. /li liResponsible for financial robustness of the product during the lifecycle – driving cost down programs when applicable. /li liFacilitate inter‑disciplinary communications, managing interfaces. /li liManage risks and issues. /li liManage risk, issue and change tracking and coordinate with all stakeholders. /li liDrive project work to completion, using good judgment in determining when to elevate issues to management. /li liAct as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. /li liEffectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain awareness of project scope and milestones. /li /ul h32. Project Management /h3 pResponsible for the engineering projects linked to new developments in his / her product line. Includes setting up planning budgeting and driving execution delivery. Projects are run in a multi‑competency and multi‑team environment using DANA and agency resources across all relevant DANA teams. /p ul liManage scope, schedule and cost. /li liCreate and Manage program timelines by directing, coordinating, and communicating to all functional groups assigned to the project as well as customer functional groups, suppliers… /li liEnsure projects are launched on‑time and meet deliverables. /li liCreate work breakdown structure based on stakeholder and system requirements. /li liRequest from team leads assigned resources to tasks (people and tools) and refine input based on feedback technical experts. /li liDefine needs for project during AOP budget rounds. /li liFacilitate inter‑disciplinary communications, managing interfaces. /li liOrganize regular meetings with the project team to ensure efficient sharing of information. /li liConnect the dots; pro‑actively identify information from one team that could be interesting for another team. /li liMonitor interfaces between teams, i.e. deliverables from one team that are input for another team. /li liControl project quality. /li liAlign project execution to DR and SG process of Dana. /li liDefine and monitor project KPIs. /li liCreate and maintain required project documentation. /li /ul h33. Technical Management Support /h3 pKey person for all technical questions, support and decisions concerning the product line : /p ul liCoordinate overall design activities for dedicated product line. /li liRequirements analysis and management. /li liConcept design work. /li liDesign reviews – DFA ‑ DFM ‑ DFMEA. /li liCalculations simulations. /li liFinal design. /li liDefine and follow up on VV activities. /li liDocument all the above in a lean and transparent way – transfer to product engineering / production. /li liDelivery on time, at cost and quality. /li liGive global technical support for the dedicated product line to customers and involved internal stakeholders on technical issues and warranty topics. /li liReport out to OH leadership where escalation is needed. /li liGood technical knowledge of all the technical aspects of the product as well as application (vehicles) and manufacturing environment is hereby essential. /li /ul h3Job Position Requirements /h3 h3Education : /h3 pMaster degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent. /p h3Professional Background : /h3 ul liMinimum 10 years of diversified experience in the multi‑disciplinary development of vehicles or vehicle subsystems. You also have experience in combining a broad technical expertise with managerial soft skills. /li liExperience and track record in technical design and delivering technical product development projects. /li /ul h3Hard Soft Skills /h3 h3Essential : /h3 ul liMultilingual : Italian English. /li liHighly motivated and enthusiastic self‑starter. /li liAble to work effectively in a cross‑functional environment, having excellent interpersonal skills. /li liStrong organizational, team building, problem solving, planning, decision making interpersonal skills. /li liFluent in English (writing speaking). /li liStrong communication skills, including customer presentations, report out to OH leadership and project review meetings and status reports. /li /ul h3Considered Plus : /h3 ul liKnowledge of Off Highway market and the related applications, standards and regulations. /li liThorough understanding of Dana Product portfolio and Technical Specifications. /li liUnderstanding of Dana competition, their products, and potential customer application. /li liKnowledge of existing processes within Dana. /li liDiversified experience in project management functions, preferably in the multi-disciplinary development of vehicles or vehicle subsystems. /li /ul p"If you are not contacted within 60 days after your application, the search should be considered filled.
