Group, one of the leaders in the automotive field, is looking for a Commodity Buyer. Role The Commodity Buyer is responsible for identifying and maintaining supplier relations, selecting new suppliers, and negotiating commodity prices, frame agreements, and contractual conditions such as development and delivery lead-time, frozen/flexible/forecast delivery schedule, and MOQ/MDQ quantity. He/She works in collaboration with Regional and Group buyers/resources to develop and execute sourcing plans. Main Responsibilities Set-up, lead, and support local improvement activities like supplier selection, negotiation frame contracts, cost-analysis, and make-or-buy analysis in a sustainable and customer-oriented way; Search and negotiate with suppliers, competitors, and companies within our Group for new products MAKE / BUY; Search for new sources for already-in-portfolio products; Coordinate launch / RFQ / whole purchasing process, technical approval, and quality until the first order; Develop, coordinate, and implement our purchasing strategy (standards, tools, supply-chain management, interfaces, communication); Collaborate with other departments such as Technical Office, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations; Secure transparency of cost-structure on material and suppliers. Implement and adapt standards for all purchasing processes, ensuring reliability and sustainable documentation of purchasing processes, according to ISO requirements. Rationalize the supplier panel. Manage supplier QCD performance and optimize supplier performance including continuous improvement. Apply global strategy according to local needs. Activities Define and lead the Commodity Strategy responding to the plant(s) needs (actual and future) and develop cost reduction initiatives with suppliers to meet year-over-year financial requirements of the business. Define supplier mapping supply flows, technology mapping, competition risks, know-how technology shifts, purchase amount trends, and shortage impacts. Drive and monitor the selection process of new suppliers, from identification of potential suppliers, first contacts, to qualification, audits, assessments contracting up to the validation of the process. Define the Sourcing Plan including Supplier Reduction (SuRe) plan, nomination of a Core Panel Target Supplier, analysis of their competences, capabilities QCD levels, and potential development. Prepare required documentation for supplier meetings or negotiations. Prepare presentations to management for sourcing selection. Collaborate with other departments such as Technical Office, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations; Secure transparency of cost-structure on material and suppliers. Skills Technical High School or Degree in Economics or Engineering; 3-5 years experience in automotive, household electrical appliances, or similar industries; Previous experience in Plastic Injection Moulding and/or Fittings; ERP knowledge (Microsoft Dynamics AX as a plus); English: B2 level minimum; Office: advanced; Modena/Bologna residence; Strong negotiation skills; Strong organizational skills; Ability to work successfully in a multicultural organization; Excellent skills and experience in contract negotiation and price negotiation in a manufacturing environment; Strategic thinker and implementer of effective tactical plans; Willingness to travel worldwide.
