Your Impact:
The Construction Manager reports to the Jacobs Project Director or the Project Manager and has full authority for the execution of the construction operations at the job site. The Construction Manager is the primary interface of all contractors and vendors relating to the construction of the facility. The Construction Manager keeps high the focus on project delivery, improving safety and quality, working with HSE and Quality Manager, defining strategy, and driving the construction team on site.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Become a promoter of initiatives and programs regarding health and safety in the workplace, collaborating closely with the Jacobs HSE manager to minimize the risk of incidents.
Collaborate with the Quality JI Department and representative on site in the development and verification of specific procedures for the CM Department.
Actively participate in the periodical Operational Project Reviews (OPR) and in all project review sessions.
Verify and develop “Pre-construction Planning” activities on the projects.
Prepare all necessary constructability reviews of the scope of work and early identification of problems.
Support the PMs and the Project Schedulers in the development of general and detailed project schedules.
Manage the personnel assigned to the construction sites in accordance with the HRE Discipline.
Monitor and expedite the performance of the site team and analyze any signals of problems.
Supervise and manage all aspects of field and construction operations.
Ensure timely completion of all critical construction activities.
Ensure that all field services personnel assigned to the project are trained and compliant.
Cooperate with the Cost Engineer providing necessary information for periodic updates.
Administrate changes to the contract scope of work.
Prompt resolution of Requests for Information.
Assure compliance with project technical requirements.
Perform all M/C punch list activities.
Lead site weekly/daily coordination meetings.
Attend safety coordination meetings with contractors.
Participate in implementing field inspection and testing plans.
Provide final check of Field Variation Orders.
Here's What You'll Need:
10+ years of experience as a field Construction Manager (knowledge of Pharmaceutical or Electronics projects is preferable).
Strong knowledge across all project disciplines.
Safety Management/Supervisor certification is an advantage.
Ability to evaluate criticality in a project to determine the right construction strategy.
Ability to manage constructability reviews with Clients and Contractors.
Ability to run complex meetings with multiple constituents.
Proficient computer skills (Office tools, 3D navigator – Navisworks, scheduling software).
Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with systems mechanical completion, testing, and commissioning.
Fluency in Italian and English.
