About The RoleAbout this opportunityExperienced professional responsible for cost management service delivery for construction projects (real estate, data centres) – from early cost advice to settlement of the final account.The role is full-time based in Milan.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates and option studies.Cost planning.Cost-in-use studies - study of the cost of building maintenance.Advising on and implementing procurement strategies.Preparing bids for services.Evaluating and reporting on tenders.Valuing completed work and arranging for payments.Settling final accounts.Providing technical advice on legal and contractual issues relating to construction projects.Administrating contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.Producing and presenting reports to Customers.Managing service delivery for profit.Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insuranceAs a Gleeds team member, you will have access to:Opportunities to develop and grow your careerEmployee Assistance ProgrammeFlexible working arrangementsAbout The CandidateWho we’re looking for:Experience, Knowledge and Key SkillsSound cost management experience in major construction projects covering pre-contract and construction / post-contract cost management tasks.Excellent knowledge of Italian construction regulations, as well as international standardsPractical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.Understanding of legislation impacting building contracts. Experience working with FIDIC is a plus.Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and writtenMethodical way of thinking and approach to workOrganisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.Excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skillsSound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;Ability to work as part of a team and manage teamsFluent in English and ItalianQualificationsQS, Architecture, Engineering degree or technical qualification in a construction-related fieldAbout The CompanyA world of opportunityGleeds is a place to be part of something bigger.
