Flowserve is an American multinational corporation and one of the largest suppliers of industrial and environmental machinery, from pumps and seals to valves, actuation and instrumentation, to energy recovery devices and hydraulic decoking systems, and more, our products help plants overcome the toughest flow control challenges.

The Director, Project Operations will be responsible for leading the execution of Flowserve Pump Division (FPD) projects for pump sites in North and South America. This position will report directly to the Vice President Operations for FPD and plant project teams will report directly to this position. This position will work closely with our platform and plant leadership to plan, execute, and deliver projects within contracted schedule, budget, and quality. Additionally, this position will report indirectly to our Director, Project Management Office to ensure continuity on project management best practices and strategic direction, and to certify success on our most strategic projects.

Responsibilities :

Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering

Accountable for project profitability, delivery, and organizational performance in region.

Setting goals and expectations for project teams and aligning goals with platform and enterprise strategy.

Works with the PMO to implement organizational efficiencies, best practices improvements, and reporting for selected projects.

Manages intersection of initiatives from Platform Leadership, PMO, and global functional leaders.

Ensure projects and initiatives are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets, and expectations, and are adhering to established operating systems.

Drive a projects operations reporting cadence at the regional and plant level. (e.g. FPD Project Reviews)

Take steps to monitor, manage, and improve customer experience across the platform.

Engage on customer escalations to understand the root cause and install mitigation and contingency actions to deescalate issues and sets expectations as necessary.

Engage with sales and commercial operations organization to understanding upcoming project opportunities globally and regionally

Improve front-end planning, clean order handover, and focus on de-risking and quick launch of projects.

Manage resource capacity and utilization to ensure alignment with backlog and forecast of projects.

Collaborate with peers to align and develop plans for projects with global scope.

Assessing and managing project leadership talent within the organization and succession planning for key roles.

Requirements:

Minimum 15+ years’ working experience in engineer to manufacture environment.

Demonstrates high proficiency in project systems and organizational operations. e.g., materials planning, quality, supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing operations.

Experience working directly with customers on a global nature to deliver projects and to solve problem

Demonstrates high proficiency in their understanding of project management best practices and governance.

Experience directly leading large teams and working within a matrixed organization

Flexible and mobile (travelling 30%)

Goal Setting and Vision – ability to develop and articulate a operational management strategy and obtaining support from direct employees and influence the organization.

Diplomacy - Demonstrates influencing and collaboration skills

Communication skills; able to communicate with diverse groups and individuals at all levels across different locations and function

Data Processing – ability to process large amounts of data and distil into actionable directionA second spoken language (eg. Spanish, French, German, Italian) and Master Business Administration (MBA), or graduate degree in a relevant discipline would be desirable / and advantage.

The function requires contact with all leadership levels at a Site, Platform and Corporate level and across multiple functions.
