Summary You will join our project team of Electrical, controls and automation engineers to deliver high quality and cost-effective engineering solutions for our customers. Your primary task will be the design of the automation systems, selection of automation components, and implementation until the testing and field deployment for advanced automatic plug-in charging and vessel electrification systems.
Main Tasks & Key Responsibilities Design and develop automation architecture of the Shore Power Machines
Select the automation hardware (sensors and actuators, motor drives, other automation devices)
Participate to outline the electrical schematic for LV control panels (LV/MV power switchgears would be a plus)
Variable Frequency Drives programming, settings and parametrization
Produce technical project documentation and test documentation
Selection of field instruments and sensors
Technical support to service team for troubleshooting on-site jobs
Contribute to products qualification, validation (testing), and certifications (Class approval) activities
Hard Skills Proficiency in selecting sensors and actuators based on project requirements and specifications.
Experience with programming motor drives and setting programming parameters (ABB, Siemens, Vacon-Danfoss, Yaskawa).
Strong understanding of testing procedures and protocols, including execution and reporting.
Read and write electrical diagrams; understanding of hydraulics diagrams is a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues related to sensors, actuators, and motor drives.
Knowledge of relevant programming languages and software tools for testing and analysis.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations related to sensor technology and motor drives.
Experience with data analysis and interpretation to make informed decisions.
Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and contribute effectively to project goals.
Hands-on experience with low voltage switchgears and control panels.
PLC programming background (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Beckhoff) will be a plus.
Soft Skills Strong problem solving skills to identify and address challenges during the design, testing, and implementation phases.
Excellent communication skills.
Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with evolving project requirements.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks, while also collaborating effectively with the other teams.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in testing procedures and reporting.
Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
Willingness to learn and stay updated on advancements in sensor technology and motor drives.
Qualifications Master degree in Electrical / Automation Engineering.
Experience in control systems engineering or related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fluent in English.
Key Performance Indicators Respect of the projects deadlines.
Timeliness of reporting.
Stakeholder satisfaction with deliverable completeness.
