Job Description Summary
To support the Site Head in analyzing the site Finance KPI’s, by the development of robust financial planning & detailed tracking processes, by driving day-to-day process improvement by ensuring strict compliance with the NAM / TechOps Accounting Manual in close collaboration with the Finance teams in the Operations Centers and Financial Service Centers providing insightful and value-added analysis and decision support to the management team.
Responsible for business management and process management together with coordination of all activities in the field of treasury, accounting, business planning and financial controls.

Major accountabilities:
Provide management with accurate, relevant business analysis to support monthly operational reviews and ad-hoc requests, and ensure timely and accurate information gathering.
Perform analyses to evaluate business risks or opportunities; make recommendations on how to mitigate risks and seize opportunities.
Ensure ongoing business performance is appropriately monitored and measured, and drive early warning for re-direction of resources if needed.
Ensure integrity of data provided by manufacturing teams, and provide value added analysis; provide recommendations on improving forecast accuracy.
Provide well-managed and quality financial analysis in order to improve business case proposals and profitability tracking.
Support the product costing process, support business partners in providing required inputs, review the standard cost calculations, check for correctness and explain changes vs previous standards.
Provide accurate operational information and advice to support the annual budgeting, rolling forecast and Strategic Planning processes.
Continually improve and streamline existing management reporting processes and support the definition and implementation of lean processes to meet the changing demands of the business.
Ensure the Novartis Accounting Manual, TechOps accounting manual, FICO, SOX controls and the different SOPs are respected and applied where necessary.
Drive the legal entity budgeting process, develop and implement strategic long-term financial and business plans, ensuring alignment across the organization, and prepare various high level management reports on a monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis.
Support the FSC and prepare legal entity reporting e.g. for tax and for statutory boards: works council, economic committee, advisory boards, and legally mandatory statistics on import / export as applicable.
SPOC in case of audits; being present and working closely on the execution part for audits.
Coordinate local IGM responsibilities for finance.
Provide input for special projects and initiatives for the site.
Oversee services delivered to the organization (define processes, agree and track Service Level Agreements).
Ensure local Management Agreement Level update.
Act as a liaison between the local and global finance teams, contributing to the overall success of the Finance organization.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Ivrea and Saluggia landlords (Bioindustry Park and Liva Nova Site Management) to identify potential opportunities/ service improvements and help relationships with global Novartis Technical Operations and Technical Research Development divisions for the actual and future investment projects.
Minimum Requirements:
University degree in Finance/Economics, Chartered Accountant, equivalent degree, or MBA in Finance from renowned business school.
Extensive experience in financial management (controlling); professional experience in manufacturing preferred, ideally within healthcare/ pharmaceutical industry.
Excellent software skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and SAP. Familiarity with financial reporting systems.
Good communication skills across various levels of the organization.
Fluent English written and verbal and ideally spoken and written Italian as well.
