Hitachi Energy is a leader in high-voltage technology, offering a wide range of high-voltage products up to 1,200 kilo Volt (kV) for AC and 1,100-kilo Volt for DC. We help to enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of power networks while minimizing environmental impact with following primary offerings forswitchgears, circuit-breakers, generator circuit breakers, power quality products, surge arresters, disconnectors, instrument transformers and high-voltage service.
We are looking for an experience HSE Manager in our Global Product Group High Voltage Services to support the growth of Global Product Group High Voltage Service and to drive the culture of safety first. You will be contributing to our growth journey, to drive the energy transition and foster an inclusive and diverse working culture.
The global high voltage service organization is responsible for the after sales support of all High Voltage Products, includingtraining, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits and replacements.
You will work with the High Voltage Service Global product group team to develop the strategy and the vision and then to work with the operating units to implement the strategy and drive continuous improvement in terms of HSE.
This position can be fulfilled completely remotely. We are prioritizing skills and experience over physical work location.

Key Responsibilities:

- HSE Strategies: Govern, foster, support implementation and continuous improvement of the health, safety and environment proactive and positive culture in the GPG and aligned with the BU HSE improvement plan and the Hitachi Energy HSE policy.

- Risk Management: Identify and assess HSE risks associated with high voltage service, generator circuit breaker and digital operations and develop mitigation plans to ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and the environment. Contribute to effective risk management of HSE related issues by providing specialist knowledge and advice on key business decisions to the GPG and Operating units team(s).

- Training and Awareness: Design and deliver specialized HSE training programs tailored to high voltage service, generator circuit breaker and digital operations to enhance employee awareness and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

- Performance Monitoring: Report progress on implementation of High Voltage Products, Hitachi Energy HSE objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs). Importance of carbon footprint and sustainability reporting is increasing and is an important part of the job to implement. Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.

- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of incidents and near misses within the GPG to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance by implementing best practices and innovative solutions within the high voltage sector and service sector. Coordinate and align HSE initiatives and actions with the aim of standardization within the GPG and track progress of implementation.

- Safety Culture : Lead projects aimed at enhancing the safety culture across global service operations, promoting proactive safety behaviors, and engaging all levels of the organization in safety initiatives. Promote Hitachi Energy HSE culture to our clients, other departments and employee groups. Promote and drive the awareness of Hitachi Energy procedures relating HSE.

- Best Practices Implementation : Identify and implement industry best practices and cutting-edge solutions to improve HSE performance and align with the latest advancements in high voltage safety standards.

- Project Leadership : Oversee and manage HSE-related projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic objectives to improve overall safety performance and compliance.

- Leadership and Team Management: Provide support, leadership and advice in order to ensure consistency in the implementation, application and compliance of the HSE Management System Standards in High Voltage Products Service Operating units. Coach people at all levels of the organization with methods and training to realize an exemplary safety culture. Develop functional competence to ensure a highly professional and competent HSE function is evident in the High Voltage Products Service Operating units. Build a strong, professional, effective and efficient HSE team in the Service HUBs. Provide support to Service Operating units to achieve HSE legal compliance and control the conformity.
Your background:
Engineering degree or a Bachelor’s degree in HSE required (engineering can be in any discipline if supported by proven HSE experience).

Minimum of 10 years of strong HSE experience, preferably in high-risk industries such as Oil & Gas, Power, or related fields.

Proven expertise in risk assessment, mitigation planning, and compliance within high-voltage services, generator circuit breakers, and digital operations.

Experience in leading HSE projects, fostering safety culture, and implementing innovative solutions and best practices.

Service experience is not mandatory but will be considered a plus.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Fluency in English required; proficiency in French or other languages will be considered a plus.

Skilled in delivering HSE training, monitoring performance through KPIs, conducting audits, and leading incident investigations.

Demonstrated ability to build and manage effective HSE teams and ensure alignment with legal and organizational standards.
