The Position HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER An alluring Sicilian escape, Verdura Resort occupies nearly two kilometres of private Mediterranean coastline. Main Purpose: The HR Manager plays an important part in ensuring effective communication and engagement strategies that support the Resort departments, acting as a liaison between Company and employees in order to promote the unique culture and philosophy of the Company. Reports to: Area Director of Human Resources, Sicily. Main duties and responsibilities: BUSINESS PARTNERING Supervise the onboarding and orientation programs of new Team Members and Managers, ensuring that they receive proper job skills training; Offer expert advice and guidance to managers on all matters related to people management; Act as a business partner to Department Heads, promoting engagement development and retention; Support Managers in performance management and manage disciplinary matters together with the General Manager; Assist the Area Director of Human Resources in budgeting for workforce, payroll, and other personnel-related expenses; Support goal-setting for department teams; Monitor turnover and retention, suggesting solutions and strategies to the General Manager; Support the hotel’s Health Safety agenda supervising the organisation of HS trainings according to the Italian law, and for record keeping. LEARNING DEVELOPMENT Work closely with the Learning Development Manager to identify training needs and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts based on daily interactions with managers and exposure to guest service and department operations; Support the LD Manager and departmental trainers in organising, delivering and/or tutoring training initiatives (e.g. Company Induction); Encourage a culture of ongoing learning and development within the resort; Support the LD Manager in managing the Learning Management System. RESOURCING TALENT ACQUISITION Cooperate with the Regional Recruitment Manager on the talent attraction process and activities; Support Managers on the selection process using behavioural interview standards and profiling tools; Manage work experience/internship programmes, ensuring quality delivery; Maintain the partnership with local schools and institutes, in order to promote the Resort and the Company according to the Regional HR Recruitment Manager. EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE SERVICE QUALITY Suggest People Culture initiatives to align with the Company’s philosophy, culture, vision and brand standards; Support the General Manager and Managers in delivering and in enhancing the Team Members’ experiences to foster engagement. Conduct onboarding and exit interviews, and share details in order to improve the retention rate; Demonstrate a strong understanding of hotel service delivery and best practices in HR. Technically skilled: Demonstrates and understands job requirements and displays the technical skills and knowledge required to perform job well and in line with the departmental SOPs. Meals on duty and complimentary laundry for work attire. We require: Previous working experience in Italy in the same role. Luxury hospitality area is preferred; BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from business/HR or hotel school; Learning and Development experience or education; Good knowledge of Italian labour law and “C.C.N.L.
