Job Scope
As part of the Mad for Science project, the Diasorin Foundation is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its team. The goal is to provide ongoing technical support to science teachers in upper secondary schools that have won the national competition for the development of scientific projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
-Microbiology: preparation of growth media for microorganisms, culturing and maintenance of bacterial and fungal strains, main staining techniques;
-Molecular Biology: purification of plasmid and genomic DNA from microorganisms, plants, and tissues; use of restriction enzymes; DNA fingerprinting; PCR; agarose gel electrophoresis; expression of recombinant proteins;
-Biochemistry: western blot, SDS-PAGE, purification of recombinant proteins;
-Cell Biology: preparation of human and murine cell cultures;
-Microscopy: preparation of fresh or stained plant tissue slides; use of optical and fluorescence microscopes;
