The successful candidate will work on development of nuclear instrumentation and products for applications in the domain of nuclear radiation monitoring, nuclear fuel cycle or measurements for nuclear reactors. The successful application will support the development and the quality of the products along the full production chain, from design to test and with clients.

Location: Viareggio, Italy
1. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities :
Work with tasks and deadlines providing feedback and reports to superiors
Participate in the product under development, working with a team of experts in different fields
Execute measurements and elaborate technical descriptions and technical documents to support the product-system.
Availability to travel and to work in the field, attending meetings with key customers, helping with the evaluation of CAEN products and presenting scientific seminars
Produce technical documentation, including Application Notes, presentations, guides and user manuals
Prepare technical test sheets, and present the work at conferences
2. Qualifications :
Master Degree in Particle or Nuclear Physics, or Nuclear Engineering
Knowledge of ionizing radiation detectors and pulse processing techniques
Fluent in English language (written and spoken), at least at a B2 level
Fluent in Italian language (written and spoken), at least at a C1 level
Knowledge of statistical data analysis, and demonstrated competence of quantitative gamma spectrum analysis techniques will be an asset
Knowledge of programming languages, C, C++, LabView, Python is an asset
Demonstrated experience in algorithm implementation in software is an asset
Demonstrated experience in system modelling and simulation, with numerical analysis or Monte-Carlo methods (Geant4 or MCNP) is an asset
One of the following requests is mandatory:
Hands-on experience of the integration of ionizing radiation data acquisition system, especially for gamma, neutron detection prototypes
Experience in setup and test of radiation measurement system
3. Soft Skills :
Excellent personal task management skills and a high level of self-motivation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive and collaborative mindset needed for effective teamwork with experts of different fields
Availability to national and international travels (up to 10 days long travels)
