Position Summary Information:
Villanova University Advancement is searching for enthusiastic and motivated undergraduate students to join the Student Philanthropy program! Student Philanthropy Associates support the Villanova Annual Fund through both fundraising and stewardship efforts. As an integral member of the UA team, you will establish, develop, and maintain relationships with alumni, family, and friends to secure resources for Villanova’s top priorities across academics, scholarships, student life, and athletics.
This opportunity is for students who wish to gain meaningful work experience, develop professional job skills, and gain valuable experience across communications, fundraising, sales, marketing, and customer service. You’ll directly impact the student experience, gain valuable leadership skills, and serve as an ambassador through various programs across Villanova.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reach out to supporters to build personal rapport, update alumni records, and acquire donations for the University.
Build a strong, compelling case in support of the Villanova Annual Fund through interactions with prospects via phone calls, emails, and text messages.
Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving to formulate innovative outreach strategies to reach prospects and donors.
Serve as an ambassador at events, including 1842 Day, Homecoming, and Reunion, by establishing an open line of communication with supporters.
Manage conversations with a high level of professionalism and handle personal information with confidentiality.
Meet performance goals established during each shift.
Gain a greater understanding of the University’s mission, goals, academics, student programs, and its needs for philanthropic support.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in progress.
Commit to a minimum of six hours per week.
Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Willing and able to consistently ask for philanthropic support via phone calls, email, and text.
Enthusiasm for Villanova and our mission.
Ability to record data accurately.
Outstanding time management and organization skills.
Extremely coachable and eager to learn every day.
Persistent and positive attitude.
