Job Description:
Role: We are looking for a Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations excellence in our factory located in Castelgomberto, a key part of our Italian market growth strategy. The Plant Manager oversees daily plant operations, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to policies and procedures. You will lead a cross-functional team across all manufacturing functions to ensure stewardship, safety, quality, productivity, and service. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of leading the manufacturing team, and serving as a liaison between plant workers and upper management. Dedication to achieving business objectives embedded in our strategy and fostering a culture of full organizational involvement and a 'run to target' mindset are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Model leadership by deploying vision, providing direction, fostering engagement, and motivating the organization.
- Promote manufacturing excellence by emphasizing safety and quality fundamentals.
- Plan, organize, and direct daily operations to exceed customer expectations.
- Lead cultural change towards manufacturing excellence, boosting safety, quality, organizational capabilities, and systems.
- Increase production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
- Allocate resources effectively and utilize assets optimally.
- Implement strategies aligned with company initiatives, providing clear direction.
- Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Build trust within the team, manage, and develop staff to secure staffing and succession plans.
- Manage costs and lead loss analysis to secure year-on-year savings.
- Foster accountability and optimize processes through performance systems.
- Address employee issues and grievances, administer collective bargaining agreements.
- Stay updated with production management best practices.
Candidate Profile:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the food industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in manufacturing-related engineering.
- Experience leading diverse teams and managing cultural change.
- Experience managing workers' councils.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing (Black Belt preferred).
- Strong knowledge of quality and health & safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
- Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.
- Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
- Fluent in English; French and Spanish are advantageous.
- Leadership, self-management, communication, adaptability, and proactive attitude.
