Roles & Objectives

As an Intern you will be part of our Manufacturing Department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to Supervisor Technical Services. The position will be based in Bologna. In your role, you will execute and lead the processes for eliminating losses by effective problem solving and process control to support in delivering business result of the assigned RRP & CC lines and fully applying the Integrated Manufacturing System (IMS) and PMI standards and policies.

Specific Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance to all PMI and legal standards, policies and guidelines related to Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability to prevent personnel, asset, or societal loss. Act and promote an interdependent and transparent safety culture fostering the utilization of preventive/predictive approach in line with Open+/IOS.

Oversight and own the process of Centerline (CL) being sure that it is properly deployed and that is the most effective to maximize the quality of the product.

Create, establish, and review CL targets & limits for the line(s).

Review, validate and update new CL standard of the line(s) in order to meet the quality of product.

Develop the control strategies to enable operators to respond to out-of-control situations and ensure that documentation is in place and used in the line(s) whenever out of limit situations occur.

Ensure that Reapplication Management & Kaizens are executed in line with QMS requirements.

Lead problem-solving activities coaching on standard problem-solving tools (Q Flag, IPS, 6W2H & UPS, PDM) to solve the problems on the line(s) related to materials and processes.

Participate to Daily Direction Setting (DDS) and provide inputs and actions related to any loss elimination activities and tasks.

Review and analyze Line Performance data and DMS in-process/output measures to contribute to team Action plan to achieve KPIs.

Ensure the integrity of the data coming from the line.

Create and maintain data record, monitor data integrity, and request master data change.

Drive CL DMS and loss elimination by applying standard tools.

Lead the vertical start-up process for the initiatives or project deployed in the line(s) of competence.

Create and establish changeover standards for all appropriate SKUs in the line(s).

Review changeover CL and coach the team to identify and implement improvement opportunities to achieve rapid change over (RCO) success criteria and standards.

Identify, propose, and deploy process modification to eliminate losses and reduce waste in the line(s).

Lead the change management and reapplication process and participate to community to reapply in the line(s) solutions already identified to eliminate losses.

Promote and validate Kaizens raised by teams by executing adequate risk assessments.

Communicate in timely manner on loss elimination priorities, plans, and responsibilities to ensure cross-functional alignment. Share knowledge and methods to encourage and foster benchmarking, reapplication, and continuous improvement.

Take responsibility for the completion of own training plan and comply with the requirements established in the Qualification Matrix.

Cooperate with Line Lead to implement Standard work process defined in Pillars (AM steps, quality factor, problem solving SWP, etc).

Ensure self and qualify team capabilities based on step-up cards according to IOS/OPEN+ in autonomous/self-sufficient teams.

Who we’re looking for

Engineering degree (chemistry, mechanical, management, similar).

Intermediate IT skills.

English skills intermediate level.
