R&D group manager Philips Hue
Job Description

We’re looking for a R&D Group Leader Philips Hue to help us meet our ambitious growth targets in our Smart Home lighting portfolio.

You will be leading the new to be built Hue Connected Luminaire Research and Development team co-located at the luminaire production location site in Pila, Poland. You will work with top technology partners, learn new skills, and grow your career. Your work will make a huge - and high-tech - impact. You will develop new Philips Hue products, that will reach the homes of many consumers globally.

As a R&D Group Leader Philips Hue you’ll be responsible for managing and allocating R&D resources to execute innovation projects for the businesses. You will give the necessary direction to make progress on the technology front relevant for the business. Development focus is on electro, thermos, mechanical and optical design. You will work closely with the co-located operational team at the production facility to realize these products

What you’ll do
Secure that the right R&D resources are assigned to develop new and adapt existing "I2M offers" with strong focus on efficiency and execution

Monitor progress and closes the loop, ensure R&D budget compliance

Stay ahead of technical, application and market developments showing understanding of business aspects. Show flexibility and agility in developing new expertise.

Translates the business product roadmap into an innovation / R&D program relevant for own group

Defines long term technology and or competence vision, specifies the gaps to be bridged in order to be ready to execute the mid-long term offer road map

Build the bench strength with appropriate profiles and manage performance. You adapt and manage the R&D competences in line with strategy
Your qualifications
Technical background

Experience in innovation with proven track record of developing new offers successfully up until launch

Experience in managing R&D budgets in a business context (at least 3 years)

Proven track record in terms of managing risks and experience in the relevant application areas

Experience with People management, coaching & leadership

very good level of English
