Faiveley Transport Italia, part of the multinational group Wabtec Corporation, is a leader in the design and production of brake control devices for trains, subways and trams, with a high technological content and in which electronics, software and pneumatics interact closely.

For the R&D department, we are looking for a RESEARCH ENGINEER INTERN.

THE NEW RESOURCE will be in charge of conceiving, feasibility studies and testing of innovative brake control solutions and technologies adhesion related, operating in the context of EU-funded research. Specifically, it will use the HIL tool for research and simulation; will define control and prediction algorithms suitable for porting on embedded real-time platform in C language; it will support the homologation of innovative products in accredited laboratories or with field tests on trains.

It will also be his responsibility to highlight all the possible solutions suitable to be patented and to monitor competitor’s patents applicable to the research field. Finally, he will participate in research activities in international projects and will attend meetings and conferences.

REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate has a master's degree in Mechatronics/Mechanics/Electronics or Physics, good knowledge of Matlab/Simulink software and C language and model-based design experience (HW in the loop). He knows how to work effectively in team, is fluent in English and is available for international business trips. Knowledge of algorithms and control theory and knowledge of artificial intelligence algorithms and neural networks complete the profile.

WE OFFER: 6 months paid internship. Coaching and training throughout the period of placement in the company. At the end of the 6 months, possibility to take part to the LEAD Program and work in different Sites across Europe (for a total of 1 year).
