We design, manufacture, and service products and solutions that keep the world connected, with a global reach spanning nearly 70 countries.We are looking for a SR Controls Engineer, Thermal Management to join our team in Tognana, Italy!What kind of work will you be doing?Collaborate with the Global Team Manager on software/hardware requirements and foundational setup. Support application software development, focusing on high-level software topics.Design software architecture based on requirements and testing outcomes.Develop and maintain coding and documentation standards, encouraging team adherence.Provide support and mentorship to technical team members.Create quality unit tests and build testing repositories.Contribute to the software and hardware development roadmap for Chiller controls.Implement plans to reduce and eliminate software bugs through root cause analysis and testing.Perform prototyping, testing, and code reviews to ensure quality.Work with customer service and quality teams to optimize and update products.Assist in planning, engineering, programming, and commissioning controls equipment, including final buy-offs.Coordinate troubleshooting of software and hardware issues with development teams.Prepare training documents for maintenance and production teams.Design control applications based on requirements and specifications.Understand GUI/communication interface and networking requirements, and create specifications.Troubleshoot existing systems issues.Write technical documents such as Software Sequence of Operation (SOO) and specifications.Participate in requirement reviews with Systems Engineering and stakeholders.Follow safety procedures and uphold company culture of integrity and professionalism.Provide timely status updates.Maintain quality standards in a regulated, process-driven environment.What will make you successful?Bachelor’s degree related to the field or equivalent experience.Several years of project experience with controls and automation equipment, including development, programming, and troubleshooting.Knowledge of Chillers and HVAC applications, especially compressor technologies like Inverter and Centrifugal.Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 standards or similar for PLC programming.Experience troubleshooting control systems.Experience with prototype start-up, troubleshooting, and validation.Proficiency in MS Office and general computer literacy.Awareness of version control systems like Git, GitHub, Perforce.Good English communication skills.Self-motivated, team player, positive attitude.Creative, results-oriented, attentive to detail.Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.Problem-solving skills, organized, and thorough thinker.If YOU are the person we are looking for, apply now and start your future career in a healthy and growing environment!The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principles Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.OUR CORE PRINCIPALS: Safety, Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, Diversity Inclusion. #J-18808-Ljbffr
