What are my responsibilities?
As a Train Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety (RAMS) Engineer, you are a member of a team whose expertise is highly valued by Alstom and our customers. You ensure that our products are efficient, reliable and safe, so that complex and innovative transportation systems can operate every day. Because we continually search for new ways to make our products better, you need to be knowledgeable in all innovative technologies that can make mobility safer. You develop creative methods for analysing system designs and make them perform as expected by our customers. You lead the complete RAMS process deployment end to end on the Rolling Stock projects and tenders.
The role of a Train RAMS Engineer is interdisciplinary and transversal by essence. You manage the RAMS activities and resources on a project from the tender phase to its delivery and beyond in warranty phase, while partnering with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (engineering, industrial, sourcing, customers, railway authorities, suppliers etc). Within Alstom, the RAMS metier is a key contributor in the design of our technical solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
Defining and deploying the RAMS process to be implemented to deliver a rolling-stock project.
Being the point of contact for all RAMS topics on a project with internal and external stakeholders.
Managing the RAMS activities work-packages.
Supporting the design of technical solutions that meet the expected RAMS performance of the products and comply with applicable regulations.
Being an advisor to other functions to ensure operational excellence and customers’ satisfaction.
Using data-oriented and predictive tools to deliver RAMS analysis.
Proposing innovating tools, methods and products to monitor and continuously improve RAMS performances.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
This role requires a perfect balance of independent mindset and strong collaboration skills. You are eager to be involved on the overall rolling stock development from a technical and project management point of view. You are seeking for an in-depth technical understanding of the subjects you address while covering the whole rolling-stock scope. You exemplify a collaborative approach to problem solving and demonstrate the ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
A degree in mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, energy & nuclear engineering, or equivalent training.
Good Communications and interpersonal skills including with third parties (customer).
Preferred qualifications
5 years of experience in the field of RAMS in railway rolling stock.
