Greenvolt is seeking an experienced Wind Project Developer to lead wind energy projects across Italy. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a solid background in renewable energy development, particularly within the Italian market, and a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, permitting, and stakeholder engagement. You will manage projects from concept to construction-ready status, ensuring alignment with company objectives and effective coordination across teams.

Key accountabilities

Project Identification & Feasibility Analysis

• Identify and evaluate potential wind project sites in Italy, assessing feasibility based on environmental, technical, financial, and regulatory factors.
• Conduct site visits, gather local data, and coordinate with technical teams for preliminary project assessment.
• Drive the scouting and analysis of potential wind energy sites (resource conditions, distance areas, restrictions, planning law, environmental constraints).

Permitting & Regulatory Compliance

• Manage the permitting and approvals process, ensuring projects meet all Italian regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, and regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits and address compliance issues.
• Examine, prepare, and modify approval processes such as municipal land use plans, municipal development plans, environmental plans, building plans, and grid connection.

Land Acquisition & Agreements

• Prepare, coordinate, and execute purchase, lease, and permit agreements with landowners to secure contracts.

Stakeholder Communication & Coordination

• Communicate and coordinate with all external project participants, including owners, communities, public institutions, and applicable third-party experts involved in the development process.

Project Development Management

• Manage the entire approval process cycle, from early development to construction readiness of large-scale wind projects, and report on project development progress.
• Ensure compliance with project objectives, including project costs, budget, schedule, and contract management.
• Involve, coordinate, and control the Greenvolt departments involved in the project.

Political and Legal Research

• Research and evaluate the political and planning law situation in relevant regions and/or states of Italy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 3-5+ years of experience in project development within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on wind projects in Italy.
• In-depth knowledge of Italy’s renewable energy regulatory framework, permitting processes, and relevant environmental policies.
• Proven experience managing relationships with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling and budgeting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both Italian and English.
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office; knowledge of GIS software is a plus.
